CCNG Local Networking Meeting - September 13, 2006

CCNG would like to thank Rhonda Chandler and AOL for hosting the Oklahoma City Local Networking Meeting held on September 13th. We also would like to thank Aspect Communications for sponsoring this meeting.

Our day began with Jim Lisko, Operations Manager of Convergys, speaking about the value of The United Way.  Jim shared his company's accomplishments and goals for this year's United Way fund raiser.  David Duke attended on behalf of The United Way.  Jim and David demonstrated to the group how a small contribution from each person can do so much to help so many.

Bill Staunton, Aspect Communications, and Rhonda Chandler, AOL, gave a combined case study on the workforce management tool AOL uses and how Aspect Communications has helped them to move in a positive direction. If you missed the meeting, the presentation will be available soon. Please let us know if you would like a copy of this presentation.

Networking sessions …..

Hiring the right person …. It was agreed that identifying the right person, skill sets and personality traits are key to a successful hire. Most companies house their own HR department and utilize different tests to identify the most compatible person for the job. The last thing you want is to hire and train a person, only to find out later that they are not the right person for the job.

Work at home agents … This is truly a trend that everyone seems to be looking into. AOL has a work-at-home program they have launched as does Farmers Insurance. Randy Dickerson of Farmers Insurance has an outline he is willing to share that explains how they created their work-at-home program. If you are interested in seeing this information you may contact Randy at randy_dickerson@farmersinsurance.com. CCNG is also working to gather some additional information from Home Shopping Network regarding this topic. HSN in Tampa, Florida has a very successful work-at-home program and is willing to share their knowledge as well.

We hope to see you all in Dallas at the Regional Member Conference on November 14th. Go directly to CCNG.com to view the agenda and to register.
